The Golden Girls raised the bar for
shows about and for middle-aged and senior women. It was a show
about true friendship and life after 50 but was universal enough to
capture the hearts of fans of all ages. It proved you can
still have a fulfilling personal life, sex life and career even after
the so-called dreaded "middle age". Bea Arthur (Dorothy), Betty
White (Rose), Rue McClanahan (Blanche) and Estelle Getty
(Sophia) had a field day with their portrayals of the four friends who
share a home in Miami. You laugh and cry with
these delightful characters and wish the show would never end. |
